K Pilota (2017) - "Limpid, green-hued yellow. Dried pear, Meyer lemon, white flowers and an intense mineral nuance on the incisive nose. Offers nervy, mineral-laced citrus and orchard fruit flavors that deepen and pick up a spicy quality on the back half. Shows a touch of succulent herbs on the persistent finish, which echoes the citrus fruit and floral notes."

K Pilota (2017) - "This straw-colored wine made from Hondarrabi Zuri grapes opens with a very different canned green bean bouquet with a hint of lime. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, rather acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is unique as well. It features lots of citrus flavors featuring lemon zest and yellow grapefruit with notes of saline and minerality. The finish is dry and refreshing. If you want to try something different, give this wine a try and pair it with grilled swordfish skewers. Enjoy."

K Pilota (2015) - "Lemon curd and ginger notes frame tangerine and blanched almond flavors in this briny white. Richer and less spritzy than many Txakolinas, but shows characteristically snappy acidity. Drink now through 2018. "

K Pilota (2015) - "This almost clear colored Hondarrabi Zuri from Spain is unique and different. It opens with a faint pineapple and almond bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, a little round and easy to enjoy. The flavor profile is a pleasant mild lemon verbena with notes of orange peel and a touch of lime and pilsner beer. The finish is dry, refreshing and fades away nicely. I would pair this unique wine with Emeril's crab cakes. Enjoy – Ken"

Overview: K5 Argiñano is a modern vineyard estate located on a hillside near the Basque village of Aia at 1000 feet above sea level overlooking the Cantabrian seaports of Zarautz and Orio. Founded in 2005 by Spanish celebrity chef Karlos Argiñano and four partners, the objective is to showcase the noble and age worthy quality of the indigenous Hondarribi Zuri and its ability to produce extractive, super-dry, mineralic whites worthy of the finest table. The ultra modern, gravity-flow bodega (designed by the famous architectural firm Alonso & Balaguer) is ideally matched to its environment and offers fabulous views of the surrounding countryside and seacoast. Thirty-eight acres of Hondarribi Zuri are dry farmed in slate and granite soils with yields limited to under 2 kilos per vine. To compensate extremely low pH levels, the wine is aged six months on the fine lees for complexity. There is no better match for the elegant simplicity of Basque seafood cuisine.
