CORPINNAT is a collective brand of the European Union that distinguishes great sparkling wines produced in the heart of the Penedes region, giving value to the territory and quality from one of the most demanding regulations of use in the world. A premium, aged sparkling wine, made from a rigorous selection and proprietary blend of the grape varieties grown in Can Feixes. Exquisitely elaborated to highlight the unique finesse, subtlety and elegance that the renowned Corpinnat sparkling wine of Can Feixes develops after several years maturing in the bottle in the cellar.

Huguet Brut Nature Corpinnat (2010) - "There is only one sparkling white, but it's either sold as this 2010 Huguet de Can Feixes Brut Nature with no added sugar or with seven grams of added sugar that is sold as Brut. This non-dosage wine represents 80% of their sparkling wine, and for Joan Huguet, it shows the finesse of Parellada more. Parellada is the main variety here, with around 20% each of Macabeo and 20% Pinot Noir. The style of wine is clean, elegant and fresh, pure and crystalline. The wine matures in bottles with the lees for some seven years. It's sold for a very good price - in fact, perhaps a bit too low, which means the wine might fly under the radar simply because it's too cheap. And that makes the wine a real bargain for the quality it delivers. It has elegant notes of white flowers, subtle lees and spices, and it's fresh and bone-dry on the palate, with very good acidity and freshness. As I said, a real bargain. Like all of the Corpinnat wines, the vines are organically farmed and have the disgorgement date on the label. 65,781 bottles produced. "

Huguet Brut Nature Corpinnat (2010) - "Yeasty aromas of white bread and straw include a whiff of vanilla. On the palate, this brut nature feels round and healthy. Briny apple flavors are backed by white pepper spice, while this is dry and solid on the finish."

Huguet Brut Nature Corpinnat (2010) - "Tasted blind. With freshness and a delicate mousse, pleasant, long and elegant to the finish. Very deep. Extremely delicate on the palate and without any obvious evolution. Fresh fruit, mineral, steely, stony and citric. It is fluid, fresh and creates a saline impression. Chalky and mineral. Slender and delicate. An extremely well- tailored palate! Drink 2019 to 2022."

Overview: Estate founded in 1768 by Don Jaime Feixes and acquired from Feixes descendants by the Huguet family in the late-19th century. Unchanged in boundary since its original founding, Can Feixes is over 1,000 acres of mountainside terrain, the highest vineyard estate in the region at over 1,400 feet.

History: The historic Can Feixes estate is situated on gravelly slopes above the 400-meter level in an amphitheater at the tree line near the famous Montserrat pinnacle, which forms Penedès' northern boundary. The farthest Penedès vineyard from the Mediterranean, temperature variation here is more Continental in its extremes, the drier climate more conducive to grape health. The altitude and mountain terrain constitute the tiny viticultural home of the Parellada variety, locally known as Montonec ("grape of the mountain"). Recognized as the region's Grand Cru, Can Feixes sells the majority of its grapes and a large portion of the fermented wines as well. Only the best grapes, and subsequently the best wines, are kept for production under the family label. Total vineyard area of approximately 120 hectares (300 acres) is planted to Parellada (Montonec), Macabeo, Chardonnay, Tempranillo, and Cabernet, with small amounts of Pinot Noir. Vineyard plantation at Can Feixes is documented back to the year 1400, registered by Sr. Jaume Feixes. The estate has continuously produced wine since 1690, the Huguet family acquiring the property following an interruption in descendency at the turn of the 20th century. Today's modern bodega includes subterranean aging cellars with pupitres for manual riddling of the Huguet Brut, bottle storage and oak cooperage for the aging of red wine. Viticulture and enology are handled respectively by brothers Joan and Josep María Huguet. Only free-run must from rigorously selected grapes is used. Bottled production averages 6,000 cases per year depending on vintage, including a fragrant, firm and minerally dry white (Can Feixes Blanc Selecció) and superb CAVA.
